Matthew has strong passions for storytelling\, R&B music\, and Food Network TV. \nNaomi-Antrelle Jones\nNaomi is a Public Health Social Worker and Trans Health Advocate\, currently working as a Program Coordinator at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in their Infectious Disease Department. Cook-Daniels has been a policy analyst and advocate for LGBT issues for more than 40 years\, and began working on anti-violence issues in the 1980s. With degrees in Women’s Studies and Conflict Management and a Certificate in Trauma Counseling\, Cook-Daniels provides training\, technical assistance\, and/or services to transgender sexual violence survivors and the professionals who serve them under grants from the U.S. Office of Violence Against Women.\nShelley Gregory (they/them or any pronouns).\nShelley is a trans human\, activist\, and advocate\, and the Strategic Project Coordinator for FORGE. Shelley has worked actively in the LGBTQI+ community for over 25 years and began to focus their work on advocacy for transgender and non-binary folx nearly two decades ago. Their background is as a civil rights lawyer. Shelley continually aims to contribute to improving quality of life for trans and non-binary individuals and increasing our inclusion in society. We’ll talk about the critical role of having people in our lives and connecting in meaningful ways.  Exploring the concepts of our personal bubble will play a central role in our discussion. \n \nPresenter: Carolyn Wesolowski\nCarolyn Wesolowski\nCarolyn is a proud Milwaukee native with a love of urban exploration both at home and beyond. She has a Master’s in Community Counseling from Marquette University with a focus on trauma-informed counseling and care. Carolyn’s work has primarily focused on supporting people living with HIV in a social services capacity\, which led her to her current role as a Linkage to Care Specialist with the Medical College of Wisconsin. She finds herself incredibly fortunate to share in the vibrancy of so many lives in such a profound way. Whittle\, MD\, MPH\, and Mahri Bahati\, MPH \nJeffrey C. Whittle\, MD\, MPH\nJeffrey C. Whittle\, MD\, MPH\, is a Staff Physician at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center and Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine. He attended the Medical College of Wisconsin then received his internal medicine residency training at the University of Alabama – Birmingham. After staying on a year as Chief Medical Resident he was a fellow in General Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions\, where he also received his Masters of Public Health. After ten years on the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh he became Division Director at the Kansas University Medical Center in September of 2001. He moved to the Medical College of Wisconsin in March of 2005. \nMahri Bahati\, MPH\nLGBTQ Community Engagement Specialist PRIDEnet\nPronouns: she\, her\, hers\nMahri Bahati\, MPH is a creative and passionate public health professional with extensive experience across the HIV/AIDS continuum of care\, including anti-retroviral medication access\, HIV prevention and surveillance\, harm reduction\, and community mobilization. Most recently she worked for the Global Forum on MSM and HIV as Public Health Advisor where she developed and managed a global capacity building project to facilitate organizational development and build self-sustainability for trans-led organizations throughout the global south. Her professional interests include sexual and gender minority health equity\, HIV treatment adherence\, PrEP access\, and the prevention of sexually transmitted infections.\nMahri earned her Master of Public Health degree at the University of Kentucky in 2013\, with a focus in Epidemiology. DESCRIPTION:Join FORGE and Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin\, Inclusion Health Clinic for an opportunity to ask questions and engage with professionals serving the trans/non-binary community. \nTopic:\nStaying true to yourself while staying safe: Gender expression in the age of COVID-19\nIn our world of social distancing\, face masks\, working from home\, and other shifts in our day-to-day lives\, trans and non-binary people are often struggling with how to stay safe AND how to continue to present our gender in ways that feel true and affirming.  Are you worried that wearing a face mask will change how people perceive your gender?  (Wonder about how to get lipstick off of your cloth mask?!)  Are you concerned about your gender expression if you need to stop binding for a while to give your lungs a bit more breathing room?  We’ll talk about how gender cues might shift and how our gender expression may morph as we adjust to our own health and the safety mandates offered by the CDC and others. Bring and share your own discoveries. \n \nPresenters:  Joanna Woodbury and Shelley Gregory\nJoanna Woodbury\nJoanna Woodbury is an experienced Certified Social Worker and has worked in HIV care since 2007.  She serves as the Social Services Program Manager overseeing social work\, mental health and pharmacy services provided in the Inclusion Health and Infectious Disease Clinics. Joanna has a strong passion for leadership\, medical social work\, HIV care and prevention\, and LGBTQ affirming healthcare. \nShelley Gregory (they/them or any pronouns)\nShelley is a trans human\, activist\, and advocate\, and the Strategic Project Coordinator for FORGE. Shelley has worked actively in the LGBTQI+ community for over 25 years and began to focus their work on advocacy for transgender and non-binary folx nearly two decades ago. Their background is as a civil rights lawyer. Shelley continually aims to contribute to improving quality of life for trans and non-binary individuals and increasing our inclusion in society. She has been married to her husband for 19 years and has 3 kids — 2 daughter who are 18 and 16\, and a son who is 14. DESCRIPTION:Some people are experiencing lags in their trans-related medical care during COVID-19. Nearly all medical appointments are happening by telehealth\, with routine lab tests being deferred until the health crisis has calmed down. However\, some trans and non-binary people are being denied refills to their hormones or not being able to connect with their health care provider to maintain their medical care. During this ASK the Expert\, Joanna Woodbury and Dr. Jessica Francis will share information on how to have continuity of care (including hormones)\, as well as some harm reduction strategies to insure your best health during these tough times. \n \nSpeakers\nDr. Jessica Francis\nDr. Jessica Francis is an assistant professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her areas of clinical expertise are low risk obstetrics\, gynecologic surgery\, minimally invasive surgery vaginal surgery\, and care of pediatric and adolescent patients.
