A focus will be on promoting health from a realistic\, practical\, and human lens. \n \nPresenter: Annie Lakatos\nAnnie Lakatos has been a nurse practitioner since 2009 and works at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin in the Inclusion Health Clinic and the General Internal Medicine Clinic. She provides primary care\, hormone replacement therapy and PrEP alongside preventive care and education. Throughout her years of experience\, she has worked in neonatal ICU \, home care\, and most recently\, primary care. Brooks joined the Inclusion Health Clinic at Froedtert in  January\, 2020. She has been married to her husband for 19 years and has 3 kids — 2 daughter who are 18 and 16\, and a son who is 14. DESCRIPTION:Some people are experiencing lags in their trans-related medical care during COVID-19. Nearly all medical appointments are happening by telehealth\, with routine lab tests being deferred until the health crisis has calmed down. However\, some trans and non-binary people are being denied refills to their hormones or not being able to connect with their health care provider to maintain their medical care. During this ASK the Expert\, Joanna Woodbury and Dr. Jessica Francis will share information on how to have continuity of care (including hormones)\, as well as some harm reduction strategies to insure your best health during these tough times. \n \nSpeakers\nDr. Jessica Francis\nDr. Jessica Francis is an assistant professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her areas of clinical expertise are low risk obstetrics\, gynecologic surgery\, minimally invasive surgery vaginal surgery\, and care of pediatric and adolescent patients. Dr. Francis provides comprehensive and preventative care for l transgender individuals\, including gynecologic and obstetrical care. \nJoanna Woodbury\nJoanna Woodbury is an experienced Certified Social Worker and has worked in HIV care since 2007. She serves as the Social Services Program Manager overseeing social work\, mental health and pharmacy services provided in the Inclusion Health and Infectious Disease Clinics. Shelley has worked actively in the LGBTQI+ community for over 25 years and began to focus their work on advocacy for transgender and non-binary folx nearly two decades ago. Their background is as a civil rights lawyer. Shelley continually aims to contribute to improving quality of life for trans and non-binary individuals and increasing our inclusion in society.
