Domestic Violence in Later Life Conference

DVinLL-Conference-promo
This conference will focus on engaging and building relationships with elders who have experienced abuse and other types of trauma in their lives. One key focus will be on LGBT elders. How do we talk with LGBT elders about the adverse situations and experiences that they have encountered? Why do LGBT elders rarely report abuse in their relationships? How do we build rapport and trust with these elders? We will also learn how to collaborate with and support caregivers, protective service providers, and domestic violence advocates in their work with elders. The goal of this conference is to increase our awareness and understanding of elders who may have endured an incredible amount of abuse and to support them in our professional and personal roles.
