About the Contest

This year’s FORGE annual coloring page design contest theme is “Summer Blossoms: A Time to Cultivate New Growth.”

We are living through a historic time that has required us to change our daily lives and routines. We can approach these changes – along with the arrival of summer – as an opportunity to cultivate the things we value the most.

With decreased vehicle and air travel, we can make decisions to cultivate a more eco-friendly planet. Our choices about social distancing allow us to develop an awareness of how we protect our community’s health. Our community’s health is also heavily impacted by racism, discrimination, and inequality. We can use this new season of change to educate ourselves and our families, listen to those most affected, and make our voices heard to demand justice and change. We must also cultivate self-care strategies that allow us to be present to fight injustice however we are able.

What new growth are you nurturing? How are you re-visioning the world in which you live, or the world in which we all live? This theme can be as “simple” as flowers that bloom, or as complex as some of the issues facing all of us today. Let your light shine through, pouring rays of hope, life, and love into your design.

We are inviting artists to design and submit a coloring book style image around the concept of Summer Blossoms: A Time to Cultivate New Growth. The image can be as simple or as intricate as you like. Designs should be black and white, and scalable so they can be printed on 8.5 X 11” paper. People will be invited to color the winning design and share their resulting artwork as part of FORGE’s Summer Blossoms social media campaign.

The Summer Blossoms coloring page contest is open to everyone. We encourage people to be creative. Summer Blossoms can mean many different things to different people. Use your imagination and let the world know how you are growing, cultivating, and inspiring yourself or your community!

Submissions must be received on or before June 25^th, 2020

The 3 best entries will be chosen as finalists and will be highlighted on the FORGE website and on social media.

1^st place winner: 2 T-shirts with the winning design and $75 gift card.
2^nd place: 1 T-shirt with the winning design and $25 gift card.
3^rd place: 1 T-shirt with the winning design.

Details:

All entries must be received (electronically time-stamped) before 11:59pm CT June 25th, 2020. All entries must be submitted with a signed waiver (below). (Online waiver and submission form at https://forge.tips/30sxGgx )
Design submissions should be printable in black and white (outline style to accommodate coloring by others).
Designs will only be accepted electronically (AskFORGE@forge-forward.org) and should be in one of the following formats: .eps, .pdf, .tiff, .ai, or high resolution .jpg.
The 1st place design (or any part of it) may be used in promotions, material, literature, handouts, posters, and/or T-shirts.
All finalists will be notified (by email) prior to the public announcement of the winner.

Waiver:
