Wisconsin festival season is rapidly approaching, and it all starts with the nation’s largest LGBT festival, Milwaukee’s annual PrideFest. This year’s PrideFest will run from Friday June 8th – Sunday June 10th with another array of fabulous performers, vendors and exhibits. FORGE is once again a co-sponsor of the Exercising Pride: PrideFest Health & Wellness area.
The Health & Wellness area was “created as a space to increase the visibility of LGBTQ non-profit organizations and programs and to showcase their robustness and viability. Each booth has fun and creative activities that engage participants and promote health and wellness of the LGBT communities.” FORGE has three booths in the Health and Wellness Area. Volunteers will help festival attendees make their own custom buttons, give away our very popular Free Hugs stickers (and probably some hugs too), guide people through a Resilience-focused photo booth, be a “Bathroom Buddy,” and participate in supporting trans/non-binary community members, friends, families, and allies.
We’re looking forward to having you be part of our team!
