Monica Roberts, AKA the TransGriot (Gree-oh), is a native Houstonian, GLAAD award winning blogger, writer, and award winning trans human rights advocate. She’s the founding editor of TransGriot, and her writing has appeared at the Bilerico Project, Ebony.com, The Hungton Post and the Advocate. She works to foster understanding and acceptance of trans people inside and outside communities of color. Health, Trauma, and Resilience in Trans/Non-binary Communities (CCF)

Workshop at the Cream City Foundation's LGBTQ+ Health Families, Healthy Communities Conference Trans/non-binary individuals may experience higher rates of health disparities and victimization than their non-trans peers.  AND, trans/non-binary individuals may also demonstrate high rates of thriving and resilience!   Join FORGE staff for a fast-paced exploration of trans health and wellness, with a positive spin.  Participants will leave with a handful of resources, as well as a list of free and easy things any provider or agency can do to improve their service to trans/non-binary clients.  

Biden’s First Hundred Days: What is means for trans & non-binary communities

Much has changed dramatically for trans and non-binary rights since President Biden took office, including who’s representing our interests and how they’re discussed. Please join FORGE for conversation about what has changed in the first 100 days (and what’s stayed the same). We’ll review the administration’s commitments, explore roadblocks and what remains to be done, and hold space for discussion about how we as community members can contribute to making change.
