Milwaukee Rally for Unity and Pride

In solidarity with “The Equality March for Unity and Pride” in Washington D.C. and sister marches and rallies around the country, we will be hosting a rally on Sunday, June 11, 2017. We encourage our diverse community to join us in peacefully opposing violence and discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals. We invite you to join us at the US Federal Court House to give voice to our concerns, and to support, uplift, and bring attention to those in our communities who are targeted due to immigration status, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, skin color, religion, and disability. Now more than ever we must let our voices be heard as we stand up for inalienable human rights and stand proudly together! Monthly Milwaukee Meeting — Therapist Panel

Choosing a therapist can feel daunting. FORGE will try to make it easier by hosting a panel of local therapists with significant experience working with transgender and non-binary individuals and loved ones. Through a moderated discussion, each provider will talk about their approaches and experience, as well as answer participants’ questions. If you are in the market for a therapist, maybe you’ll meet them here! If you’re not in the market for a therapist, increase your community-resource value by learning more about some of the professionals who serve the SE Wisconsin trans/non-binary communities. MKE Parents of Trans Kids is a group of parents and caregivers supporting each other on our individual journeys of love, acceptance, and advocacy for our school-aged gender non-binary, transgender and non-conforming children. We meet monthly on the 3rd Sunday from 2:00pm to 3:30pm. Supportive, gently facilitated meetings offer parents and adult family members the opportunity to share their successes, concerns, and stories of challenges and resilience. This space also provides a forum to learn from others, ask questions, seek feedback, or just listen. Childcare can be provided upon request. Held in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month, WCASA and FORGE invite you to join us for a movie showing. We will be showing "Major!" followed by a discussion. Snacks will be provided. MAJOR! is a documentary film exploring the life and campaigns of Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, a formerly incarcerated Black transgender elder and activist who has been fighting for the rights of trans women of color for over 40 years.
