Sledding at the Urban Ecology Center

Activity:

We’re so excited to share these upcoming FORGE Outdoors events for the winter! FORGE Outdoors offers free, inclusive outdoor activities for transgender/non-binary individuals and their friends, family and loved ones in in the Milwaukee area. First, we’ll meet at the Urban Ecology Center (Riverside Park) for a fun day of sledding, and enjoy hot drinks in the UEC lounge.

Waiver:

Time:

12:00 – 3:00 PM

Location:

The Urban Ecology Center at Riverside Park (1500 E Park Pl, Milwaukee, WI 53211). We will meet inside the Urban Ecology Center main building. Caleb will arrive 15 mins early to meet with anyone who gets there early, and we will wait 15 mins for the whole group to arrive before leaving. If you arrive and have difficulty finding the meeting location, please text or call Caleb at 414-249-6746. Although we ask that you arrive on time so that we can start our activity as a group, please feel free to leave the event as you need to. After sledding, we will enjoy hot drinks inside the UEC building! (Note: there are gender inclusive restrooms on the second floor of the UEC building.)

Transportation:

If you are driving to the Urban Ecology Center, there is a free parking lot located across from the UEC main building on E. Park Pl. If you are traveling by bus, the green line stops on the corner of Oakland & Park, which is the closest stop to the Urban Ecology Center. If you have additional transportation questions/needs, please contact Caleb ahead of time at caleb@forge-forward.org.

What to bring:

Yourself, warm & weather-appropriate clothing (with layers: gloves and hats recommended!), a water bottle, and snacks (optional). If you own a sled that you would like to bring, you are welcome to do so! We will provide a limited number of sleds for the group, so we may need to take turns as group size demands.
Please bring any personal medication, such as inhalers or epi-pens, even if you do not think you will need them on this outing. Your safety is extremely important!
