Putting Our Faith Into Action: Building deeper understanding and connection with our trans+ siblings

Bradford Community Church UU 5810 8th Ave, Kenosha, WI, United States

Bathroom bills. Title VII. #MeToo. Racial justice.  Gun Violence. Title IX.  What do these things have to do with transgender and non-binary people?  Come find out to learn more.  And… we know you want to learn (and do!) more, because you are a UU! After a quick review of trans basics, we’ll explore the changes in the local, state, and federal socio-political-cultural landscapes and how these change directly (and often adversely) impact trans/non-binary communities. There are also incredibly positive shifts happening, so stay to also learn about resilience in action. Everyone will leave with concrete steps about how to improve the lives of trans/non-binary people in these challenging and difficult times. This dynamic workshop-like experience will begin directly after the 10am worship service at the Bradford Community Church UU (5810 8th Ave, Kenosha, WI), with interim minister Denise Cawley, Rev. Erik Carlson, and many Bradford friends who will share words, art, and healing prayers celebrating […]
