October is the month of the Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Festival.  We encourage you to attend films, engage in conversation about them, and connect with friends and other film-goers. Transgender Day of Remembrance 2016

Join FORGE and community partners in marking the Transgender Day of Remembrance. The greater Milwaukee community will be honoring those who have lost their lives due to anti-transgender bias or violence on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Time: 7:00pm Location: UW-Milwaukee Greene Hall, 3347 N. Downer Ave, Milwaukee, WI This is a COMMUNITY event — for the community, of the community, by the community. Parents of trans kids support group

MKE Parents of Trans Kids is a group of parents and caregivers supporting each other on our individual journeys of love, acceptance, and advocacy for our school-aged gender non-binary, transgender and non-conforming children. We meet monthly on the 3rd Sunday from 2:00pm to 3:30pm. Supportive, gently facilitated meetings offer parents and adult family members the opportunity to share their successes, concerns, and stories of challenges and resilience. This space also provides a forum to learn from others, ask questions, seek feedback, or just listen. Childcare can be provided upon request. Please contact us 10 days prior to the meeting so we can arrange for a sitter. For additional information, email us at parents@forge-forward.org.

No Monthly Milwaukee Meeting

There will be no formal monthly FORGE support meeting on November 26, 2016. Name Change Clinic

Many of us are concerned about our legal identities and documentation paperwork in these post-election days.  Join attorney Laura Sette and FORGE for a name change clinic.  You will learn about how to legally change your name, how to change name and gender markers on passports and Social Security records.  Laura will spend some time sharing information about the “how to’s” before we have some hands on, form completion, We welcome trans, non-binary and queer folks.  We welcome partners, loved ones and family members.  We welcome caring community members.
