LGBTQ people (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) and allies face discriminatory obstacles every day, in terms of healthcare, legal services, family and adoption advocacy, housing and employment, and more. They face threats of violence where they live, work, play, and pray. Many are courageously leading a civil rights movement to empower sexual and gender minorities in the U.S. Join us to explore the issues that currently challenge the LGBTQ community. Hear from area citizens with lived experiences. Hear social justice advocates address the legal and institutional obstacles to full inclusion. Meet representatives from local agencies and gather resources about how you can get involved in creating solutions. PANELISTS WILL INCLUDE, AMONG OTHERS: Attorney Erin Fay, Oakton Avenue Law Offices Gerry Coon, President/CEO, Diverse and Resilient michael munson, Executive Director, FORGE Representative JoCasta Zamarripa, Wisconsin Sate Assembly, District 8 […]

Unless they were transgender pioneer Lou Sullivan (1951-1991). Sullivan marched for Civil Rights, embraced the 1960s counterculture, came of age in the gay liberation movement, transformed medical treatment of trans people, institutionalized trans history, forged an international female-to-male (FTM) transgender community and died from AIDS at the epicenter of the crisis.
